Strawberry Syrup Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberries
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Cook the Syrup
  1. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the strawberries are soft and the syrup thickens.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Strain the Syrup
  1. Using a strainer, strain the syrup into a clean container to remove the strawberry solids.
  2. Let it cool before using or storing.
