Prepare the Batter
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal and salt. Slowly stir in the boiling water until a thick batter forms.
Shape the Cornbread
- Allow the batter to cool slightly, then shape it into small patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Fry the Patties
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Serve
- Remove the patties from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
