Method
Prepare the Hot Dogs
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- Slice the hot dogs into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch thick.
- In a bowl, mix together all the rub ingredients until well combined.
- Toss the hot dog pieces in the rub until evenly coated.
Smoking the Hot Dogs
- Place the coated hot dog pieces in the smoker and smoke for about 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, wrap the hot dog pieces in aluminum foil and return to the smoker for another 30 minutes.
Finishing Touches
- Remove the hot dogs from the foil and place them back in the smoker.
- Brush the BBQ sauce mixed with honey over the hot dogs and smoke for an additional 30 minutes.
- Remove from the smoker and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
