Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of a greased casserole dish.
- Spread half of the diced ham over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, ham, and cheese.
- Pour the milk and soup mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Just add an extra 10-15 minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
