Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded rotisserie chicken works well
  • 1 cup ham, diced use deli ham for convenience
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded can substitute with Gruyère
  • 1 cup cream of chicken soup can use homemade or canned
  • 1 cup milk whole milk recommended
Topping
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted to mix with breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika for flavor and color

Method
 

Prepare the Casserole
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, diced ham, shredded Swiss cheese, cream of chicken soup, and milk. Mix well until combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs with melted butter and paprika until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
  2. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
Bake the Casserole
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from cold.
