Cake Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping thawed
Toppings
  • 2 medium bananas sliced
  • 1 cup strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks drained
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Method
 

Prepare the Cake Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and baking powder, mixing until combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour until the batter is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
Make the Cream Cheese Layer
  1. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the chilled cake base.
  2. Layer the sliced bananas, strawberries, and pineapple chunks on top.
  3. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
