Ingredients

Ribs
  • 2 pounds pork ribs baby back or spare ribs
Dry Rub
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce for serving

Method

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry rub ingredients and mix well.
  3. Rub the dry mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cook the Ribs
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the ribs in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cut them in half to fit.
  3. Cook the ribs for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  4. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach at least 145°F (63°C).
Finish and Serve
  1. Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes in the air fryer to caramelize the sauce.
  2. Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  3. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
