Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/8-inch thick rounds.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Grease a baking dish and layer the sweet potato slices. Pour some cream mixture over each layer and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with butter pieces. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
