Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/8-inch thick rounds.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Grease a baking dish and layer the sweet potato slices. Pour some cream mixture over each layer and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Top with butter pieces. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
